Taiwan's defense authorities have issued a stark warning that China's operations targeting the island are evolving into a coordinated and systematic campaign. A report submitted to the Legislative Yuan's Foreign Affairs and National Defence Committee emphasizes the growing concerns regarding China's use of cognitive warfare and united front strategies aimed at influencing Taiwanese society and undermining its sovereignty.

The report highlights increased military pressure from the People's Liberation Army (PLA), which has significantly expanded its air and naval operations near Taiwan. In the past year, there has been a sharp increase in military activities, with Chinese aircraft conducting approximately 3,760 sorties, many involving incursions into Taiwan's air defense zones. Such activities raise worries about the potential for miscalculation and escalation into actual conflict scenarios.

China is also accused of attempting to alter legal narratives through "law enforcement patrols" near Taiwan's outlying islands, actions perceived as attempts to assert the Taiwan Strait as part of China's internal waters. In response, Taiwan is enhancing interagency coordination and deepening communication with international partners to counter disinformation, improve public understanding, and reinforce military readiness through joint operational drills and public education initiatives.
