Vietnam’s President To Lam Embarks on Historic State Visit to India
Vietnamese President To Lam is on his first state visit to India, meeting with Indian leaders to strengthen the 'comprehensive strategic partnership' between the nations. The visit marks the 10th anniversary of bilateral ties, with discussions focusing on enhancing cooperation on various global and regional issues.
Vietnam's President, To Lam, received a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday, marking his inaugural state visit to India. President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the Vietnamese leader at the presidential palace.
This is President To Lam's first state visit to India since his election in April. National Security Adviser Ajit Doval met with him on Tuesday to discuss enhancing the 'comprehensive strategic partnership' between the two nations.
Beginning his visit in Gaya, Bihar, President Lam participated in spiritual ceremonies at the Mahabodhi Temple, welcomed by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. Their talks will potentially intensify India-Vietnam relations, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership.
