In a strategic diplomatic move, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is poised to visit Bulgaria and Finland from June 10 to 11, as disclosed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) this Tuesday. Jaishankar's Bulgaria itinerary includes crucial dialogues with Bulgarian leadership, focusing on bilateral and international issues of shared interest.

The ensuing diplomatic engagement will unfold in Finland, where Jaishankar is scheduled to join the prestigious 14th Kultaranta Talks on June 11. This year's discussions, themed 'A World in Transition: Global, Regional and Local Perspectives,' will offer a vital platform for interactions with Finland's senior leadership, as the MEA emphasized.

India's relations with both Bulgaria and Finland are characterized by warmth and mutual respect, with cultural and economic ties tracing back centuries. Notably, Finland-India trade surged to EUR 3.0 billion in 2022, with a significant trade surplus favoring India, underscoring the robust commercial relationship and positive growth trajectory between the countries, according to the latest MEA report.
