Strengthening Ties: Jaishankar Visits Bulgaria to Boost India-EU Relations

His visit underscores the commitment to evolving a contemporary and dynamic relationship between India and Bulgaria.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar recently conducted a diplomatic visit to Bulgaria, engaging in crucial dialogues with the nation's senior leadership. These talks centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation, nurturing India-European Union partnerships, and envisioning future collaborative efforts between India and Bulgaria.
Jaishankar emphasized India and Bulgaria's longstanding ties, advocating for a modernized, forward-thinking relationship. Highlighting India’s robust annual growth rate of 7-8%, he conveyed the abundant opportunities available within several sectors, including engineering and defense. He further noted India’s expanding presence globally and invited Bulgarian enterprises to capitalize on these prospects.
The External Affairs Minister also highlighted the increasing popularity of Yoga and Ayurveda in Bulgaria and proposed deeper cultural connections. On India-EU relations, he referenced the recently concluded Free Trade Agreement and comprehensive security partnerships, urging Bulgarian engagement. In his discussions with Prime Minister Rumen Radev and Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova-Chamova, Jaishankar reiterated the importance of expanding bilateral ties and engagement with the European Union.
