In Sofia, after a meeting with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova-Chamova, Jaishankar emphasized the importance of resilient supply chains and safeguarding maritime trade amidst these volatile times.

The minister pointed out the mounting global uncertainties stemming from conflicts, economic insecurities, and the recent pandemic. He asserted India's stance as a leader of the Global South in advocating for unhindered maritime trade and emphasized the importance of energy, food, and fertilizer security.
