In a stern response to the recent Iran-US peace deal announced by President Donald Trump, Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir declared that the Jewish state is not obligated to adhere to the agreement with Iran. The deal, which Trump claims will open the critical Strait of Hormuz, has not yet been fully disclosed to Israeli officials.

Speaking from New Delhi, Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar emphasized that Lebanon remains uninvolved in the agreement. Azar noted that while Iran posits Lebanon's inclusion as part of the accord, Lebanon’s future will be dictated by its own government, currently negotiating with Israel.

Azar further affirmed Israel’s commitment to maintaining its security measures, including the presence in buffer zones and continuing actions against Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon. The Israeli government awaits further details of the agreement before deciding on any formal stance.
