US President Donald Trump declared on Monday that maritime traffic, including several oil-carrying vessels, has resumed in the Strait of Hormuz. The announcement followed his declaration of the completion of a peace deal between Iran and the United States, aiming to end hostilities in the region.

Through a post on Truth Social, Trump indicated that the designated shipping route has regained safety and security, calling it the 'Southern Highway'. He further stated, 'Ships are beginning to move, many loaded with oil, out of the Strait of Hormuz.'

This development comes after Trump announced the completion of the agreement with Iran on Sunday, which also led to the end of the US Naval blockade. Vice President JD Vance confirmed that the deal had already been signed digitally, highlighting that sanctions relief for Iran would depend on adherence to the new terms, particularly concerning enriched uranium stockpile compliance and verification processes.
