Israel-India Relations Thrive Amid West Asian Changes
Despite geopolitical tensions, Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar emphasizes the growing strength of India-Israel relations, marked by substantial agreements in defense and infrastructure. With Indian companies increasingly participating in Israeli projects and ongoing financial collaborations, both nations continue to deepen ties amid evolving regional dynamics.
In a statement underscoring the resilience of international cooperation, Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar highlighted the robust trajectory of India-Israel relations. This positive trend persists despite the ongoing conflict in West Asia, buoyed by a potential peace deal with Iran announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Azar pointed to significant collaborations in sectors like defense and infrastructure as evidence of this growing partnership. Over the past 18 months, over 18 defense agreements have been signed, representing new areas of cooperation. Indian firms are actively seeking participation in major infrastructure projects, including tenders worth around USD 800 million each in the Tel Aviv metro area.
Reinforcing economic bonds, Azar noted the presence of Indian workers in Israel and advancements in financial agreements, such as a bilateral investment treaty and ongoing free trade agreement negotiations. Despite regional geopolitical tensions, Israel remains optimistic about further collaboration with Indian enterprises.
