Citi pushes Fed rate-cut call to June 2027 after strong jobs report

​Citigroup on ​Friday ‌pushed its ​forecast for the Federal ‌Reserve's next interest-rate cut to June 2027 from ‌October 2026, citing stronger-than-expected ‌August payroll growth and a labor market that ⁠remains broadly ​stable.

The ⁠brokerage had previously forecast ⁠25-basis-point rate cuts in ​October and December 2026 and ⁠January 2027, but now ⁠expects ​the Fed to deliver quarter-point reductions ⁠in June, September and ⁠December ⁠2027.
