China names Hu Changsheng as new Tibet party chief

​China ‌appointed Hu Changsheng ​as the ‌Communist Party secretary of Tibet and ‌he becomes the ‌region's top political official while ⁠replacing ​Wang Junzheng, ⁠state news agency Xinhua ⁠reported on ​Tuesday.

Hu previously served as ⁠party chief ⁠of ​the northwestern Chinese province of ⁠Gansu.
