Fatal accident occurs at BHP's Chile copper mine

A fatal ‌accident occurred on Wednesday at BHP's Escondida copper mine in ‌Chile, the nation's mining ‌regulator and the union representing the site said.

Theworker was ⁠killed ​in ⁠an accident involving a front-end loader ⁠used in mining, union ​head Sebastian Liberona told Reuters. BHP ⁠did not immediately respond ⁠to ​a request for comment. The regulator, Sernageomin, added ⁠that a team was ⁠being ⁠sent to investigate.
