Xi says China hopes US opposes Taiwan independence, Xinhua reports

​Chinese ‌President Xi ​Jinping ‌said Beijing hopes the United ‌States adheres ‌to the position ⁠of opposing "Taiwan ​independence" ⁠and handles the ⁠Taiwan question with ​prudence, state ⁠news agency ⁠Xinhua ​reported.
