China's People's Liberation Army Navy held routine training exercises on Wednesday with its Liaoning aircraft carrier strike group in the waters of the western Pacific, state broadcaster CCTV said.
The drills followed the navy's annual training plan aimed at testing and boosting combat readiness, and were not directed at specific countries or targets, it added.
