Russia protests to Latvian envoy over staff cuts move, foreign ministry says
Russia summoned Latvia's envoy, Ramona Krasovska, on Wednesday to protest against Latvia's demand for the dismissal of all the staff of the social security section at the Russian embassy in Riga, the Russian foreign ministry said.
It said the plans jeopardised payments of pensions and social welfare to almost 6,000 Russian military pensioners and their families who live in Latvia.
