Trump administration expands election probe in California, NYT reports

​President ‌Donald Trump's administration has ​opened a ‌criminal investigation in its campaign to prove thousands ‌of noncitizens are ‌on California's voter rolls and issued federal ⁠grand ​jury ⁠subpoenas to local election officials, ⁠The New York ​Times reported on Thursday.

The ⁠newspaper cited people ⁠with ​knowledge of the matter ⁠and copies of subpoenas that ⁠it ⁠obtained.
