South Sudan parties extend period to form unity government by six months - IGAD

South Sudan parties have on Friday agreed to extend the period to form a unity government by six months, regional group IGAD said in a statement.

The parties met in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa to agree on a way forward on forming a national unity government, part of the peace agreement signed by the two sides in September.

The unity government was originally meant to have been formed by May 12. (Reporting by Denis Dumo; Writing by Omar Mohammed; Editing by Janet Lawrence)
