UK PM to meet Conservative chief during EU poll campaign

British Prime Minister Theresa May will campaign in the European elections on Thursday and will meet the chairman of a powerful Conservative committee on Friday to discuss the rules governing leadership elections, a Conservative lawmaker said on Wednesday.

At a meeting of the 1922 Committee, a Conservative group which can make or break prime ministers, lawmakers were told that May was not going anywhere for now after growing calls for her departure over her latest Brexit gambit backfired.
