Israeli passenger plane makes emergency landing in Sofia

An Israeli aeroplane made an emergency landing at Bulgaria's Sofia Airport on Wednesday because of a suspected bird strike shortly after takeoff, a Bulgarian transport ministry official told Reuters.

The El Al's Boeing 737-804 bound for Tel Aviv landed safely and passengers disembarked as normal, Hristo Hristov, head of the aircraft accident investigation unit at the ministry said.
