Netherlands to force companies to have more women board members
- Country:
- Netherlands
The Dutch parliament on Tuesday voted for a motion that will force companies in the Netherlands to increase the number of women on their boards.
Following an 87-to-63 vote in favor of the motion, companies listed on the Amsterdam stock exchange will have to include at least 30% women on their supervisory boards.
Companies that do not meet this target will have to replace any man leaving the board by a woman or leave the seat empty.
