Man killed in fire

A 45-year-old man charred to death in a fire that engulfed his hut in Gondia district of Maharashtra in the early hours on Wednesday, police said. The incident took place in Kumbhitola Barabhati village, an official said.

The deceased is identified as Somesh Puri, who used to live alone. Prima facie, the fire was caused by a short circuit, he added.
