Railway employee caught red-handed while accepting bribe

A railway employee was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh in Alwar district on Sunday, Rajasthan's anti-corruption bureau said.

Ramesh Singh, an assistant executive engineer (bridge line) of north central railway, demanded the bribe from the complainant, who belongs to Alwar, in lieu of releasing payment to a contractor.

Singh is posted in the office of deputy chief engineer in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, ACB officials said, adding, Ramgarh in Alwar falls in his jurisdiction. A complaint against the accused was verified and a trap was laid to arrest him, ACB Director General (DG) B L Soni said.
