Britain says: not clear if the N.Ireland Brexit deal can be rebalanced

Britain's Brexit minister, David Frost, said on Monday that it was not yet clear whether or not a fundamental rebalancing of the Northern Ireland Protocol was possible.

"What we haven't yet tested is whether a fundamental rebalancing of where the protocol works is possible," Frost told lawmakers.

"You know if that sort of negotiation isn't possible then obviously, we have considered that situation, but given the delicacy of the situation in Northern Ireland in all kinds of ways, we think it is right for us to proceed in the most sort of responsible and predictable way that we can."
