Steps to be taken to end man-animal conflict in Nilgiris district: Forest Minister

Steps would be taken to prevent incidents of man-human conflicts in the Nilgiris district of in Tamil Nadu, Forest Minister of the State K Ramachandran said on Monday.

He told reporters here that the Union Environment Ministry has rejected the proposal to start rope-car system in the district and that a special legal committee would be formed to decide the future course of action in this regard.

Ramachandran was here to inaugurate the desilting of a canal for smooth flow of rainwaters and warned those involved in illegal quarrying in the district.
