3 arrested for killing man

Three persons were arrested for allegedly killing a man in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district who demanded they return the money he had given them to invest in share market, a senior police officer said.

Police recovered the body of a 32-year-old man identified as Gulshan Gope, a resident under Noamundi police station limit of the district, from Lokesai-Kiriburu forest on Saturday.

Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar said on Monday that prima facie it seemed to be a case of murder as the victim was hit on the head with a blunt object to give it the shape of an accidental death.

The SP said a police team headed by the Circle Inspector (Noamundi) Virendra Kumar was formed to investigate the case after an FIR was registered in this regard.

In course of the investigation, the team gathered evidences with the help of the technical cell of the department and arrested Sukhlal Sinku and his brother Yugal Sinku and Sedega alias Sindhu Sinku, all residents of Mogra village.

The arrested trio confessed that Gulshan had given Sukhlal Rs 6 lakh about one and half year ago to invest the amount in share market but Sukhlal did not invest.

Gulshan had been demanding Sukhlal to return the money or give his land in lieu of the amount but the accused was reluctant to do so.

Sukhlal along with his two accomplices hatched a conspiracy and killed Gulshan on March 11, the SP said.
