The mutilated body of a 32-year-old man was found in a tin shed at Dahagaon in Thane district of Maharashtra, with the police saying that he died in an explosion although they are yet to ascertain what triggered it. The incident occurred during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, the police said.
The deceased was identified as Kalpesh Desle, assistant inspector Raju Naravne of Padgha police station said.
The victim had carried out some fabrication and welding work of the tin shed a few months back. Some raw material was stored at the place, he said. ''His body was found at that place this morning. A few wires were found nearby, which indicated that he died due to an explosion, but the reason behind it is yet to be ascertained. The body of the deceased was sent to the J J Hospital in neighbouring Mumbai for a post-mortem,'' he said. The police have registered a case of accidental death, Naravne said, adding that all angles are being probed. Forensic experts also visited and inspected the place, he said.
