J'khand man gets 10 years RI for raping girl

A court in Jharkhand's Godda district on Thursday sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a 17-year-old six years ago.
The court of District Judge I Janardan Singh also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict and failure to pay the amount will attract an additional jail term of one year.
According to the FIR, the incident took place in Mahagama police station area on June 13, 2017 when the survivor was sleeping on the terrace of her house. The convict kidnapped her at gunpoint, took her to his house and raped her.
The survivor later narrated the incident to her parents, who took her to the police station and lodged the complaint.
