Estranged husband stabs woman, 5-month-old daughter to death

A woman, her lover and five-month-old daughter were allegedly stabbed to death by her estranged husband in this district, police said Thursday.

The incident took place late Wednesday night in Tudmura village, they said.

The woman, Pinki alias Radha (35), along with her lover Satyendra Shakya (28) and her daughter tried to barge into her husband Manoj Jatav's house when they were killed, Superintendent of Police Kunwar Anupam Singh said.

An enraged Jatav thrashed them and later stabbed them to death, the SP said.

The bodies have been sent for autopsy and police have taken Jatav into custody.

Additional SP Arvind Kumar and other officers reached the spot and started investigation.

Jatav told police that he was married 14 years ago and his wife eloped with a youth from Mainpuri. On Wednesday night, his wife came home with her lover and five-month-old child, which enraged the husband and he killed her, police said quoting the accused.
