Turkey detains 37 in international organised crime operation

Turkey said on Thursday it had captured Hakan Ayik and 36 others who were involved in an "international armed organised crime organisation", including some sought by Australian, U.S. and New Zealand authorities.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on social media platform X that the detentions happened in Istanbul, and that the crime ring was allegedly involved in international drug trafficking and money laundering.
