The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) is striving to minimise risk impact and losses after a ransomware attack on its U.S. arm disrupted trades in the U.S. Treasury, China's foreign ministry said on Friday. The lender has paid close attention to the matter and has done a good job in emergency handling and supervision, ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin told a regular news conference.

Several ransomware experts and analysts said an aggressive cybercrime gang named Lockbit was believed to be behind the hack, Reuters previously reported.
