The Gurugram police on Saturday added 25 Police Control Room (PCR) vehicles and 40 Riders (Bikes) to its fleet for patrolling and Quick Reaction Task (QRT), a senior police officer said.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga cars were provided by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) while Rider bikes were provided by Honda two-wheeler manufacturing company.

"The new fleet was put into service after Haryana Public Works Department, Forest and Civil Aviation Minister Rao Narbir Singh flagged off the convoy from the Police Commissioner's office here on Gurugram-Alwar road," the Police PRO said.

The Gurugram police now has a total of 52 PCRs and 94 Riders. Singh said more such vehicles will be provided in January 2019.

The city has nearly 5,900 Haryana Police personnel, 42 police stations including three only for women, two traffic and one for cyber crime.
