Mali remains a member of West African Monetary Union, foreign minister says

Mali Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop said the West African nation will remain a member of the West African Monetary Union (UEMOA) despite its exit from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The eight-nation UEMOA uses the West Africa CFA franc currency pegged to the euro.
