The Pentagon said on Monday that the death of an airman who had set himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington over the weekend, was a tragic event. Pentagon spokesman Major General Patrick Ryder said U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was following the situation.
The service member set himself on fire in an apparent act of protest against Israel's war in Gaza.
