U.S.-Supplied Weapons in Ukraine: Kremlin's Response

The Kremlin has acknowledged attempts by Ukraine to strike Russian targets using U.S.-provided weapons. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on U.S. President Joe Biden's covert authorization for Kyiv to target Russian military sites supporting the offensive on Kharkiv, underscoring U.S. involvement in the conflict.

The Kremlin said on Friday that it was already aware of attempts by Ukraine to strike targets on Russian territory with weapons provided by the United States.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was commenting after four U.S. officials told Reuters on Thursday that U.S. President Joe Biden had quietly authorised Kyiv to launch U.S.-supplied weapons at military targets inside Russia that are supporting an offensive against the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.

Peskov said that while "nothing is known" to the Kremlin about the details of Biden's decision the reported step showed how deeply Washington was involved in the conflict.
