A marketing professional's car was allegedly damaged by a motorist while he was driving on Vibgyor High School Road here, police confirmed on Monday.

The incident, captured by a dashboard camera installed in the car, prompted a search for the motorist to understand the motive behind the attack.

Deepak Jain, the victim, detailed his traumatic experience and shared footage from the attack in a series of posts on 'X', stirring public reaction.

The events unfolded on Saturday at 11.39 am when a grey Ola scooter with a Karnataka registration number overtook Jain's car. Initially, Jain did not sense anything suspicious but soon noticed being followed. The alleged motorist began shouting and honking at him to pull over, eventually parking his scooter in front of Jain’s car.

''In a fit of rage, the motorist picked up a tender coconut shell from the road. His face was visible as he approached my car to attack with the coconut shell. At 11.40 am, he smashed my right-side car window and forced me to open it. He then broke the right ORVM (outer rearview mirror), continuing to yell aggressively, and smashed the window multiple times before throwing the shell at the car's back glass as I tried to escape,'' Jain claimed.

He also mentioned that a Renault Triber attempted to block his way about 300 meters after the attack, suspecting them to be part of the same gang.

Following Jain's complaint, a case has been registered at Varthur police station, and efforts are underway to apprehend the motorist, according to a police official.

Jain's video on social media has led to others sharing similar experiences of road rage from recent months.
