In a heart-wrenching incident, 27-year-old Lipi Rastogi, daughter of prominent IAS officers, ended her life by leaping from the 10th floor of a government residential building near Mantralaya in south Mumbai early Monday morning, police confirmed.

Lipi, a law student at Sonipat, Haryana, chose the desperate measure around 4 am while other residents were asleep. A guard discovered her unconscious on a motorbike and swiftly informed her family, leading to her rushed admission at GT Hospital. Despite rapid medical intervention, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Authorities found a suicide note in her room stating she blamed no one for her tragic decision. Police believe academic pressures might have paved the way for her distress. Lipi’s father, Vikas Rastogi, serves as the principal secretary in Maharashtra's Higher and Technical Education Department, while her mother, Radhika Rastogi, is also a senior IAS officer in the state. The case mirrors a 2017 tragedy where another IAS couple in Mumbai lost their son similarly.
