The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) chronicled its final charge sheet on Friday against Lalu Prasad, the former Railway Minister. The charge sheet revolves around a land-for-jobs scam, where Prasad and his family purportedly received land from ineligible candidates appointed across various Railway zones.

This culminates in a voluminous charge sheet against 78 accused individuals, including Prasad's entire immediate family—wife Rabri Devi, son Tej Pratap Yadav, daughter Hema Yadav, and several Railway officials.

The CBI leveraged sections under criminal conspiracy, cheating, and forgery backed by provisions from the Prevention of Corruption Act to substantiate their case. Investigation aired that Prasad, in tandem with Railway officials and his family, orchestrated substitute appointments in favor of land exchanges.
