Odisha Chief Secretary Orders Probe into Missing Focus Lights at Shree Jagannath Temple

Odisha Chief Secretary P K Jena has mandated an investigation into the reported removal of various focus lights used in the beautification project of the Shree Jagannath Temple, an official disclosed on Saturday.

Concerns were raised by devotees and residents after discovering the disappearance of these lights, which were installed in Puri's pilgrim town near the historic temple, on the evening of the election result count that saw the BJD suffer a defeat.

The Chief Secretary has instructed Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain to lead the probe and address the discontinuation of the lighting arrangements near the 12th-century shrine. Jena has also urged Swain to take action against those responsible and to restore the lights promptly while seeking a permanent solution at the governmental level.
