France and US Pledge Joint Efforts to Prevent Middle East Escalation

France and the United States, led by Presidents Emmanuel Macron and Joe Biden, vow to intensify efforts to prevent further conflict in the Middle East, with a keen focus on Lebanon. They also plan to address escalating tensions from Iran and apply necessary pressure to curb its influence in the region.

France and the United States will double their efforts to avoid the Middle East exploding, notably in Lebanon where there is urgency to reduce tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, President Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday.

Speaking alongside U.S. President Joe Biden during his state visit to France, Macron said that Paris and Washington also saw an escalation strategy by Iran in the region and that the two countries were determined to exert the necessary pressure to stop this trend.
