BSF Jawan Tragically Ends Life in Chhattisgarh Camp

BSF jawan Malay Karmakar allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a camp in Kanker district, Chhattisgarh. The incident was discovered around 10.30 am. Local police have been alerted and the body sent for post-mortem. The reason behind his extreme step is still unknown.

In a tragic incident, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan, identified as Malay Karmakar, allegedly committed suicide at his camp in the Naxal-affected Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

Karmakar, a constable in the BSF's 162nd battalion, was found hanging from the ceiling of a toilet at the camp around 10.30 am, according to local police officials. Originating from Nadia district of West Bengal, Karmakar's sudden demise has shaken the battalion and his fellow officers.

Upon being alerted, local police reached the location and sent the body for post-mortem. Authorities have yet to determine the reasons for Karmakar's extreme step. The BSF remains extensively deployed in Kanker district for anti-Maoist operations.
