A shocking incident occurred in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, where a 36-year-old transgender woman was gravely injured after being allegedly stabbed by a man for refusing to provide money for liquor, police reported on Saturday.
Following the assault by Ashish Yadav on Friday night, the victim was rushed to a government hospital. Police officer Manas Dwivedi informed reporters that a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged under section 327 of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to voluntarily causing harm for extortion.
Authorities are now intensively searching for the accused and delving into his criminal history to uncover any past enmities, Dwivedi added.
