Tragic Demise of Young Constable: Sand Mafia Strikes Again

A 24-year-old constable, Rohit Kumar, was tragically killed by the sand mafia in Nawabganj area. Kumar, along with other officers, was investigating illegal sand mining when he was run over by a tractor. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities vow swift justice.

A young constable tragically lost his life in a confrontation with the sand mafia in Nawabganj area, police disclosed on Sunday.

The incident occurred Saturday night when Rohit Kumar, 24, accompanied by Sub Inspector Santosh Kumar and Constable Chaman, was investigating a tip-off about illicit sand mining. As authorities questioned the mafia, the driver of a tractor-trolley ran over Kumar, inflicting fatal injuries.

Despite being rushed first to the Lohia hospital and later transferred to a private facility, Kumar succumbed to his injuries by Sunday morning. Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar confirmed that those responsible have been identified and will face arrest imminently.
