Madhya Pradesh witnessed heightened political tension as Youth Congress activists took to the streets on Sunday, demanding the arrest of Vishwas Sarang in connection to the alleged nursing college scam under CBI scrutiny. The police resorted to water cannons to control the crowd attempting to breach barricades, leading to the detention of 15 protesters.
The protest, led by Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress president Mitendra Darshan Singh, pointed fingers at Sarang, the then medical education minister, accusing him of orchestrating the scam in collusion with BJP officials. The agitation demanded Sarang's resignation and full cooperation with CBI investigations.
Youth Congress media chief Vivek Tripathi further alleged that BJP leaders and officials were protecting the accused. The state has recently revoked recognition of 66 colleges in 31 districts, citing severe irregularities, following MP High Court's directive for a CBI probe.
