Key Suspect Arrested in Tarn Taran Church Desecration Case

The main suspect in the 2022 Tarn Taran church desecration, Jaswinder Singh alias Munshi, was apprehended by police. A pistol with a magazine and live cartridges were seized. Along with his accomplices, he vandalized the church and set the pastor's car on fire.

In a significant breakthrough, law enforcement officials announced the arrest of Jaswinder Singh alias Munshi, the primary suspect involved in the 2022 Tarn Taran church desecration.

According to Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, a pistol, along with one magazine and two live cartridges, were confiscated from Munshi at the time of his arrest.

The arrest follows the shocking incident on August 31, 2022, when four masked individuals broke into a Tarn Taran church, vandalized religious idols, and set the pastor's vehicle ablaze before fleeing. SSP Amritsar Rural, Satinder Singh, revealed that police intelligence suggested Munshi was poised to deliver a weapon consignment, leading to his prompt capture at a Chatiwind check post.
