Gonda District Magistrate Neha Sharma stated that the injured have been evacuated and admitted to hospitals, with six from Bhikharipur and two from Majhgawan. All are relatives.

The bus, en route from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra, veered off the road after the terrorists opened fire and subsequently fell into a deep gorge. Sharma assured ongoing monitoring of the situation and additional support from the district administration to aid the victims.
