In a significant political resurgence, Chirag Paswan, the chief of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and a two-time MP from Bihar, assumed the role of Minister of Food Processing Industries on Tuesday. Taking the helm at 42, Paswan reiterated his commitment to exploiting the vast potential of the food processing industry.

Paswan stated, 'There is enormous potential in the food processing sector, and a 100-day plan will be developed after discussions with ministry officials,' stressing the direct benefits to farmers. He emphasized the critical need to expand processing units nationwide, particularly in farming-dependent regions.

In a ceremony attended by his mother and family members, Paswan pledged to address India's lagging performance in food processing. His extraordinary rise, bolstered by his party's triumph in the Lok Sabha elections, has established him as a prominent Dalit leader and a pivotal figure in Bihar politics.
