U.S. College Instructors Attacked in China, Suspect Arrested

Chinese police arrested a 55-year-old man for stabbing four U.S. college instructors in Jilin. The man attacked after bumping into one instructor and three others tried to help. A Chinese tourist was also injured. The injured are being treated, and an investigation is ongoing.

Chinese police they had arrested a 55-year-old man suspected of stabbing four instructors from a U.S. college in the northeastern city of Jilin on Monday. Police said the attacker had bumped into one of the instructors then attacked them and the three others with them. A Chinese tourist was also injured while trying to help to stop the attacker, police added.

The suspect was arrested the same day, the statement said. All injured are being treated in hospital and an investigation is underway, the police said. The four were from Cornell College in the U.S. state of Iowa and were teaching at a college in Jilin, police added.
