Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has assumed charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. During his interaction with the media, he expressed his satisfaction that the Prime Minister's first decision, taken the previous day, was in the interest of farmers. He emphasized the government's commitment to doubling farmers' income and pledged that the ministry would take all necessary steps for the welfare of farmers. Shri Chouhan highlighted the NDA government's decade-long dedication to farmers' welfare and assured that his ministry would continue striving to achieve these goals.

After taking charge, the Minister toured various offices within the ministry, engaging with staff at all levels, including cleanliness workers. He encouraged teamwork and cooperation to realize the government's vision for farmers' welfare. He also visited the Krishi Integrated Command and Control Center to review facilities that monitor the agricultural scenario in the country, including crop production and drought preparedness.

In a subsequent meeting with senior ministry officials, Shri Chouhan emphasized the need for transparency in the ministry's operations. He distributed the government's manifesto for farmers' welfare and rural development, urging everyone to work towards its implementation. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary leadership and called on officials to develop a roadmap to achieve the manifesto's goals. Improving the lives of farmers, referred to as "Annadata," should be the ministry's mission, he asserted.

Shri Ramnath Thakur and Shri Bhagirath Choudhary also took charge as Ministers of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. They were welcomed by Shri Manoj Ahuja, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Shri Himanshu Pathak, Secretary of DARE, and other senior ministry officials.
