Major Drug Bust in Assam: Crores Worth of Narcotics Seized

In Assam's Cachar district, narcotic drugs worth Rs six crore were seized by the police based on secret information. Three people were arrested in connection with the haul of 21,000 YABA tablets. The state's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, commended the police for their efforts in curbing drug trafficking.

In a significant crackdown on narcotics, Assam's Cachar district police seized drugs valued at Rs six crore on Friday. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the operation.

The operation, conducted based on confidential tips, led to the arrest of three individuals and the confiscation of 21,000 YABA tablets. The Chief Minister lauded the police's effort in combating drug trafficking.

The seized Yaba tablets, brought from a neighboring state, underscore the ongoing challenge of cross-border drug smuggling. Previously, police recovered a significant haul of these stimulants from Karimganj and Karbi Anglong districts.
