AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh Faces Bailable Warrant for COVID-19 Norms Violation Hearing Absence

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has been issued a bailable warrant by an MP-MLA court for not appearing in a three-year-old case hearing on violating COVID-19 norms. Despite multiple absences in the past, the warrant addresses his missed attendance at the latest hearing.

A bailable warrant has been issued by an MP-MLA court against AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, in relation to his absence from a hearing concerning a three-year-old case of alleged COVID-19 norms violation.

Special Public Prosecutor Vaibhav Pandey confirmed that Singh has repeatedly missed hearings, leading Magistrate Shubham Verma to issue the warrant. The hearing concerns an FIR filed on April 13, 2021, detailing a meeting attended by 50-60 individuals in Hasanpur village without official permission.

The Rajya Sabha MP is facing accusations under the Epidemic Disease Act and other laws. Although other involved parties have secured bail, Singh's continued absence, including the recent hearing, has resulted in the warrant. The next court session is scheduled for June 29.
