The Kerala Congress on Thursday rallied behind a woman from Eranjoli, Kannur district, who has voiced her concerns about violent political practices in her vicinity. The woman, who requested anonymity, revealed she has been receiving threats from local CPI(M) officials after disclosing details of alleged bomb-making activities in her area.
Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan contacted the woman to offer support following her claims of continual intimidation by the local CPI(M) cadre.
The woman's allegations surfaced in the aftermath of an unfortunate incident involving an 86-year-old man who died after a bomb explosion on Tuesday. The elderly man, identified as Velayudhan, had reportedly found and attempted to open a steel bomb on a deserted property where he was collecting coconuts, according to police reports.
